Our Home City - Corona

Corona was founded at the height of the Southern California citrus boom in 1896.  It derived its name (and its nickname, The Circle City) from the curious layout of its streets, with a standard grid enclosed by the circular Grand Boulevard.  Prior to the 1980s, Corona was a largely agricultural community, dominated by citrus orchards, ranches, and dairy farms.  Today, Corona has an ethnically diverse population of more than 145,000.  More than 500 Muslim families live in the city of Corona.  The Islamic Society of Corona/Norco has formed great working relationships with elected city leaders, who have attended many ISCN functions in recent years.  ISCN has established itself as the center of “The Circle City.”
